The following text describes wikis and is designed to look like a Wikipedia page. You may find out the meanings of some of the words on the wiki by clicking on them. 
The Wonderful World of Wikis
The word "Wiki" comes from the Hawaiian language and it means "quick". A wiki is a website or software tool that allows users to collaborate on projects. Wikis provide information that is written and edited by the users. Wikis are usually easily accessed, simplified HTML writing, that allow linking options to other pages.
There are many types of wikis; the largest is "Wikipedia. Wikipedia is an online web encyclopedia which does not fall far behind in accuracy or in volume to other well known printed encyclopedias.
Wikis are special because they are collaborative and constantly expanding. Wikis have an associative structure that resembles the structure of the human brain: a web of knowledge created by non-linear links and connections.
This text is written like a wiki. Notice the hyperlinks in this text, to additional pages. At the top of this page are four tabs. You are presently on the article page. The discussion page is the place where you can see the comments written by the editors of this page. “Edit this page” is the next tab. From that tab, anyone can edit the contents of the entire page. The history tab is the last tab. From that tab, you may see the changes that were made on the wiki page. These changes are listed in chronological order with a brief description of what was changed.
